Interested in doing a PhD at MCG@ILLC? The aim of the PhDs in the Humanities funding instrument is to increase the number of young talented researchers in the humanities, and to facilitate their progression on the academic career ladder.
For the internal ILLC pre-selection, candidates should submit the following documents:
a description of the proposed research (max 1 page A4), including the name of the proposed supervisor(s);
an academic CV (max two pages) including a link to a writing sample;
a list of all Master-level modules taken, with an official transcript of grades.
These documents should be submitted by e-mail to phd-illc@uva.nl. The deadline for submitting these documents is 3 November 2024.
The criteria for success in this internal ILLC-call will be the quality of the proposal, the quality of the candidate, the potential impact of the research, and the envisaged prospects in the NWO Call.
Concerning the proposed research, note that for obvious reasons only proposals with a clear Humanities signature will be considered, and that the applicant mentioned on the proposal needs to be working at the Faculty of Humanities.
