In "Modelling Musical Perception: A Critical View," Stephen Smoliar (1994) presents a review of some of the work in "Music, Mind and Machine" by Peter Desain and Henkjan Honing (1992). This reply is an attempt to correct some of the errors and misrepresentations made in it.
